About Me

Mike is an avid coffee drinker, streamer, web developer, and Judoka. While studying at the University of Virginia in the Media Studies department, Mike realized his passion for writing about music, especially for genres and artists that are often overlooked by mainstream media. He strives to continuously expand his musical foundations by combing various forms of media for the latest in alternative, post-hardcore, emo, metal, and djent. He believes in giving a platform and voice to these acts, in an effort to tear down the barriers that prevent innovative, upcoming music from entering an otherwise conformist and over-saturated market.
